Titan "Tito Burrito" Soltis:  2/6/2006 - 4/19/2014

On Saturday April 19, we had to say goodbye to Titan. He suffered a pericardial effusion, which lead to heart complications. On Friday, while the cardiologist scanned his heart, she found a cancer mass on the right side. Hemangiosarcoma is an aggressive form of cancer that likely played a role in causing Titan's heart complications. Unable to stabilize his heart, we made the painful decision to say goodbye to our love bug on Saturday.

Titan came to us from First State Greyhound Rescue in 2008 after a racing career in Daytona, Florida. From the day he arrived off the haul from the track, he captivated me. I was only meant to foster him, but after a short time it became clear we were meant to be together. Titan watched Jason and me grow as individuals and as a couple. He was there when Jason proposed, he was the ring bearer at our wedding, and he was quick to shove our other greyhound Milo out of the way when we brought our son David home to get the first sniff of his new brother.

Always confident, social, and loving, Titan was a game changer in our lives. The last six years have been brighter because of him. On Saturday, we said our goodbyes. We told him over and over how much we loved him, how our lives were better because he was a part of it, and how we could never have another dog as great as him. We kissed him, hugged him, held him, and pet him. I sang "You are my sunshine" one final time and held him as he went to sleep. Our hearts are broken and we are left desperately wishing we had more time with him.

We want to thank First State Greyhound Rescue for giving us Titan. He forever changed our lives.

Gil’s Valaria aka Vally

Even though we didn't get to share our lives together for more than a few years, Vally will be missed beyond words. Anyone who met her at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire saw what a loving, sweet girl she was. She so enjoyed being there and flirting with all the people who stopped to talk to her. She was filled with joy and her smile could warm any heart.

She will be forever missed by her dear sister in adoption Ivy, her two children (who always called her momma when she scolded them, or me if I was scolding them...) Syd and Katie, and my dear husband Marc and me.

Love to you Vally-Voo!

SR's Attwood:  10/24/1999 -2/3/2008

To my snugglebutt:

You were my shadow, but I never realized how empty my hand would feel when I reached down and didn't feel your nose.
You were my second boy and my third dog, but I never realized how empty the house would feel without you.
You were my problem child, but I never realized how empty Juliana's arms would be without you to snuggle and pat-pat.
You are running free now, cancer-free and chasing bunnies, and my heart is full with my memories of you.
You will always be with me; I miss you and I love you.

Tigger

Pouncy, bouncy & full of fun, sweet Tigger was my number one. She was the reason I got into greyhound rescue. Gone but never forgotten.

 Belle

Belle was the biggest crybaby greyhound I ever met. She was also a real meet & greet trooper. Always a greyt presence at the Ren Faire, everybody's friend. She was also my "roadie", always ready to go with dad. I miss her more than any other dog I've had.

Precious

She was a beat up, battle scarred old brood mama who had a heart of solid gold. Never was there a more regal or dignified matron. She was truly Precious and we were blessed to have her with us for 5 years.

Darby:  5/1/2001 - 1/17/2007

Darby (Pa's Dashing) was one of our failed fosters.  He was our problem child, always finding trouble to get into.  On January 14, 2007, Darby chased his last squirrel.  He collapsed in our yard and died January 17, 2007.  He was my Darby Detterline.

Finnigan:  12/24/2000 - 3/11/2008
Dooley:  5/21/2001 - 4/16/2008

On March 11th, we lost our beloved Finnigan (El Top Hat) to osteo.  He fought a brave battle by participating in a pain management study at the University of Pennsylvania.  We were blessed with an extra two and a half months with Finnigan. He loved going to Meet & Greets, leaning on anyone who came close, convincing them he liked them the best.  He was our big gentle, goofy boy who we will always love and miss terribly.

On April 16, 2008, we lost Dooley, (Bobbye's Flirt) to an abdominal mass.  He was his dad's shadow, following him everywhere.  He loved sunning himself in the yard and sharing the couch with his pop.  He will be missed.
